MV Review: "Mileage" by Jung Yong Hwa feat. YDG

I can't have been the only one jumping up and down and yelling when I heard Jung Yong Hwa came out with a new solo music video, right? No? I thought so. So, here are some of my thoughts on it. (I promise to keep the keyboard slamming down to a minimum.)

Watch the video here!

What I loved:

~ The song. THE SONG. I have so much love for Jung Yong Hwa's beautiful voice, ever since I first heard him sing in Heartstrings. It also has a really fun and light feel to it, not a melodramatic confession of love but a sweet, teasing expression of it.
Cool shots from the video! (Image via Google)
~ The outfits. Well, some of them. I mean, whoever styled them gets kudos from me.

These suits are amazing. (Image via Google)

Sadly I could not find a picture of the full outfit, but I love the jacket and it looks amazing on him :3 (Image via Google)
~ Did I mention the song?

It is a dance-worthy song, guys. (Image via Google)

Meh, could have been better:

~ I was familiar with YDG from his hilarious role as Heo Seung Po in Three Musketeers, which Jung Yong Hwa also starred in. What I was not familiar with was the fact that he rapped, but to be honest I wasn't awed by it. Of course he's a decent rapper and I admire his talent, I just felt like the rap element didn't add much to the song. I know some people are going to say "she's just blinded by her bias", but that really isn't true. It simply does not fit with my personal style that I've acquired through listening to a wide variety of Korean rap (thanks to Happycake and my other friends :D ). That being said, everyone is entitled to their own personal style - just because I didn't find it particularly noteworthy doesn't mean other people should share my opinion.

Did not like:

~ What was with all the mannequins? My experience with Doctor Who has left me with a deep distrust of mannequins. Kind of creepy.

Correction: REALLY creepy. (Image via Google)

That being said, this was a pretty great video overall and I really enjoyed watching it. I can't wait to see what Jung Yong Hwa comes up with next!

Until the next song!
